Before all this access to the site, its directory and its software are needed to precede the installation. Access to web server via shell or FTP, a text editor, an FTP client and web browser are the main requirements one should know. Besides all this pre installation checks are must to follow like web host must have minimum requirements for WordPress to run, latest release should be downloaded because it have optimum features. Secure password key should be pre decided to keep your work secure. The downloaded file is zipped; firstly it should be unzipped to access the installation files. The ideal operating system is the windows XP professional, Vista, windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows server. The installer must have administrator rights on the operating system.
After all these checks and the requirements are fulfilled the installer is ready to proceed for installation. A discussed if the downloaded file is not unzipped, then unzip the downloaded file. The second step is to create the database. If full privileges are possessed by the user to access and modify MySQL, then database can be created on it , if not then database can be created on the web server.
A file is created at the time of installation named wp-config-sample.php. Rename this file to wp-config.php and open it in text editor. WordPress can change the name of wp-config-sample.php by itself to wp-config.php. Firstly let WordPress rename it, if the filename is unchanged then the user must have to rename it manually. Fill the database details like the database name which is used it, the username and password created, the hostname, port number and the UNIX socket file path.
After all this is manually done, upload the files in the location desired on your web server. In case you want to upload it on the root directory of the domain, upload all the contents inside the unzipped file excluding the directory file into the root directory of web server. On the other hand if subdirectory installation is desired then create a blog directory on the server and then via FTP, upload WordPress to directory. Before that one major point must have to be noticed is that the FTP client has an option that converts the filename into lowercase, it must be disabled. Because it will change the file names that can raise major problems in further work.
Now access the wp-admin/install.php in the web browser you prefer to use. Then run the installation script. If WordPress is installed in the root directory of web host then installation script can be accessed by visiting http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php otherwise if it is in subdirectory then visit http://example.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php. Here example.com is just an example for domain and directory to ease understanding of instructions. All this is the procedure to learn, how to install wordpress manually.
